Application for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Funding
Information on the Village of Saranac Lake's application for CDBG funds for single family housing rehabilitation for low and moderate-income households.
The village is in the development phase of applying for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Housing Program to receive funding that will go toward eligible project applicants seeking to make small improvements to their residence.
The CDBG program is administered by the New York State Homes and Community Renewal and will make available to eligible local governments approximately $45 million in funding for the current program year for housing, public infrastructure, public facilities, economic development, imminent threat, and community planning, with the principal purpose of benefiting low- and moderate-income persons.
If awarded, potentially as early as spring 2027, the village will use the funding for single family housing rehabilitation for low and moderate-income households.

This application is preliminary and does not guarantee funds. Rather, the applications are something that show a need in our area for additional grant funding.
