Get out - and stay out!

This is mountain country. This is lake country. This is Saranac Lake.

In Saranac Lake, we take the outdoors seriously. Imagine a place where nature is always accessible, where the mountains are for hiking and the lakes are for paddling. Our 6er hiking challenge will get you out on the trail by boot, ski, or snowshoe. Paddlers can hop on the Saranac River and drift along as it carries them out of downtown, passing one gorgeous Adirondack vista after another, or they can launch into Lake Flower and take the scenic route to Lower Saranac Lake, where island camping awaits. Fishing happens by boat, shore, or ice, and our roads make great routes for cycling past endless mountains and lakes. Bird watchers and wildflowers finders will love exploring our rivers, forests, and wetlands. However you prefer to enjoy nature, you'll find it in Saranac Lake.
